Surroundings of the motorbike Hotel Haus Gitschberg
The Hotel Appartment Haus Gitschberg is located in the heart of South Tyrol, in the lower Val Pusteria, the gate to the Dolomites and is embedded between the neighbouring regions Tyrol and East Tyrol. In the north this area is bordered by the giants of the ZIllertal Alps, while in the south there are the Dolomite mountains, part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Driving towards south, in a day trip you can easily reach the Lake Garda, driving through the Brenta Dolomites.
There is something for every taste, such as winding tours, gentle bends and mountain passes. The tours can easily be combined with cultural and scenic highlights along the routes.
The most famous tours in the surroundings are the tour round the Sella alpenstock that takes bikers across the Passo Campolongo, Passo Falzarego, Passo Sella and finally the Passo di Gardena. By the way, this is the tour my guests love most, as the innumerable rough peaks along the road make every motorcyclists' heart beat faster.
Other popular mountain passes that can easily be reached from the hotel are the Passo Stalle (2,502 m), the Passo Giovo (2,092 m) and the Passo Rombo (2,474 m).
Beside tours to East Tyrol, North Tyrol and Carinthia, you can also drive to Trentino and Belluno, Italian areas that are also within easy reach.
